Peace, Conflict Management and Mediation

Aims
The aim of this Certificate programme in Peace, Conflict Management and Mediation is to deepen understanding of theoretical and empirical problems in promoting peace, the outbreak of conflicts, development and resolution of conflicts within and among states, and different analytical levels i.e. Individuals, groups, states, and regionals.

Objectives

The Certificate Programme in Peace, Conflict Management and Mediation will provide participants with the

(i). Background knowledge to peace and conflict
(ii). Analytical skills and techniques in peace making and conflict management.

Certification Requirements
To qualify for the award of a Certificate in this programme, a participant is expected to complete all the modules.

In addition, a participant shall be required to submit and pass a term paper at the end of the programme.

Programme Overview
The duration of the Certificate programme in Peace, Conflict Management and Mediation is six (6) weeks.

The Programme consists of 4 modules, all of which are mandatory.

The Programme will be run on Saturdays and Sundays, with a total of six (6) contact hours per day.

Assessment
Assessment will be based on continuous assessment (attendance, class exercises, presentations and quizzes), Term papers and examinations.

The Target Market

The target group for the programme includes graduates of Senior High School, tertiary students, civil servants, security agencies, traditional authorities, youth groups, Non-profit Organizations (NGOs) and Civil Society Organization (CSOs)
